National Park Reforestation Project Launching Ceremony and Tree-planting Day

Today (April 29) at the Tai Lam Country Park in Yuen Long, a "National Park Reforestation Project Launching Ceremony and Tree-planting Day" was held. About 300 volunteers and family members of the Hong Kong Corporate Volunteer Team participated in the planting of tree seedlings. The forest lands burned by mountain fires recreated the beauty of life and the beauty of nature, and used it to educate the younger generation to contribute to the environment and sustainable development of Hong Kong.

In the past two years, serious hill fires broke out in various rural areas in Hong Kong. This not only burned large areas of forest land, but also caused wild animals to lose their habitat. In order to rehabilitate woodland, afforest and conserve the environment and allow natural habitats to be inhabited, 3,000,000 trees are planted in six country parks affected by mountain fires through the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department. This makes it possible to reproduce trees in deserted woodlands. The scene of the shade.

Promote environmental protection through tree planting activities and encourage employees to participate in the greening environment to demonstrate our commitment to conservation and greening.

Three hundred volunteer workers, including nearly 90 young people and children, have joined forces to build a site of about 1.5 hectares next to the Da Lat Nature Trail to plant more than 700 seedlings. Apart from greening the environment, they also enjoy family fun. The activities will help nurture the younger generation to practise care for nature and take a step forward in the environment and sustainable development of Hong Kong.

The two-year reforestation project will replant 39,000 trees for the country parks affected by the fire. Since the restoration of forests is a matter of no delay, the AFCD had earlier planted 120,000 of them in the Tai Lam Country Park and the proposed extension of the North Lantau Country Park. Later, AFCD will plant 270 000 trees in South Lantau Country Park, Tai Lam Country Park and Pat Sin Leng Country Park one after another. There are as many as 22 species of tree planting species, including local species such as Eucalyptus, Tadpoles, Runan, Nanchang, Liquidambar formosana, Cinnamomum camphora, Schima superba, and Syzygium hanii.

The "Shui Hing Volunteer Team" has been actively participating in various charity activities. The activities organized and participated in the past years have benefited the community, including services for the elderly, youth or disabled people, environmental protection projects, fundraising, and various social services. The Wanhong volunteer team provides employees with a platform to participate in social services and assists in fulfilling the mission of charity and corporate citizenship.
